Sergio Llull ripped the officiating following a 68-77 loss to Baskonia. It is Real Madrid’s second defeat at home in the Euroleague Top 16. “It’s a shame that the reigning European champion gets treated this way [by the refs]. There’s little we can do. It makes you mad but somehow you must control the emotions, and I include myself there, in order to help your team win”, Llull said to journalist David Camps, from radio station Onda Cero.
Coach Pablo Laso was asked about refereeing too in the press conference: “I don’t think we were unfocused because of the referees. Baskonia played right in the border of the foul. We knew we had to be aggressive to provoke those fouls. Some times we did, some times not so much. But right now I don’t want to talk about referees. I have to watch the game. I’m thinking more about our mistakes”, he said.
